The Foundation
The NATH Foundation came into being with the objective of supporting the underprivileged in our society. Promoted by Nath Pariwar (family), the Foundation began its activities in West Bengal in 2008. Today, the activities are limited to under developed countries with special focus on India and Africa. Our belief that every life has equal value is at the core of our work at the foundation. We follow 13 guiding principles, which help define our approach to our philanthropic work, and employ an outstanding leadership team to direct our strategies and grant making.
The foundation trustees also donate funds to charitable organizations that are purely of philanthropic and charitable in nature with non-sectarian, non-communal and non-political character and outlook. MS Swaminathan Research Foundation and Rotary International Foundation are two of the nonprofits who are benefiting from our integrated model. The Foundation primarily focuses by providing education scholarships and basic facilities for empowerment, benefiting a large number of individuals in particularly women and institutions focused in empowering women from underprivileged society.
Scholarships
The NATH foundation accepts applications for Educational Scholarships from Indian citizens from rural areas. Applicants must be outstanding students to receive the financial assistance. The NATH Foundation focuses its education investments in two primary areas both aimed at addressing this inequity: (1) helping village schools better prepare all students for college, work, and citizenship; and (2) reducing financial barriers to basic education for poor and needy.
Mentoring
Many throughout the world too often comment that it is difficult to motivate girls and young women in developing countries to consider entering a career in business due to inherent cultural, economic and educational barriers. The Program is a platform to realize these difficulties and contributing to the building and assisting the women with increasing access to modern information and communication technologies is proving easier to disseminate need-to-know information to women.
Micro Finance
The Foundation helps to promote the long-term effectiveness and financial stability of high-performing nonprofits that are delivering outstanding services to their communities. With the new emphasis now given to micro enterprises, self employment activities and household enterprises, now all considered as essential actors for achieving social and economic development in developed and developing countries. NATH Foundation provides funds for sustainable enterprises.
